There can be few more dramatic backdrops on earth for creating shareable Instagram photos than Bali. This beautiful tropical paradise has it all from awe-inspiring sunsets to ancient temples and tropical rainforest. There is so much to photograph here it can be a bit overwhelming for first-time visitors. So to help you out, here is our guide to the most beautiful places on Bali to take awesome Instagram photos:
1. The Hanging Gardens of Bali
The Hanging Gardens of Bali is a hotel, but it is the gardens we are interested in. Overlooking the Ayung River, these beautiful tropical gardens provide an excellent backdrop for your Instagram shots. The gardens also contain a waterfall and an infinity pool, making it perfect for those super sexy bikini shots.
2. Bali sunsets at OMNIA Dayclub
Instagram likes nothing more than hot bodies and beautiful sunsets. You can combine them both at the OMNIA Dayclub. Located in Southwest Bali and boasting uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean, this adults-only club is your chance to take jaw-dropping photos of beautiful people in an even more stunning location.
3. Jimbaran Coast
If it’s stunning scenery you’re after you can do worse than heading to the Jimbaran Coast. Located on the West of the Island, where you’ll find some of Bali’s most beautiful beaches including Bukit and Uluwatu. For more vibes, head to the Rock Bar which provides a chic, sexy backdrop for your selfies.
Looking to add a little nightlife to your photostream? Head up to Seminyak which offers some of the island’s best restaurants, cafes, clubs and bars. This area is buzzing all night long and the vibe here is amazing so you should get some great shots.
5. Bali waterfalls
Instagram loves a waterfall and they don’t get any more dramatic than on Bali. There are waterfalls spread all over the island but you’ll find the most dramatic ones at Banyumala, Git-Git, Tegenungan and Munduk. Just remember to take a swimsuit to get some dramatic close-ups.
6. Bali rice paddies
Bali is famous for its rice terraces and they make an excellent photo opportunity. If you’re feeling energetic, head on up the Campuhan Ridge Walk for the best shots. Alternatively, head out to the Monkey Forest and take some shots of the Mengwi Temple while you’re there. But the best shots are reserved for the UNESCO listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. It might take some effort to get there but you will be rewarded by some of the most stunning backdrops you have ever seen.
7. Ubud for ocean sunsets
For the best sunsets on the island, head to Bali’s cultural capital, Ubud. Located high in the mountains, Ubud offers unrivalled views across the island in all directions.
8. Danau Buyan
At Danau Buyan you will find one of the first dedicated Selfie Park’s on the island. Located high in the mountains there are several props built especially for selfie seekers. You can pretend you’re a pirate, climb into one of the bamboo nests or play on one of the swings. Be warned though, this place gets really busy on a Sunday.
9 Temples and palaces
You can’t come to Bali without taking pictures of the many temples and palaces which are dotted across the island. Some of the more popular ones are the Tirta Gangga Water Palace in Karangasem on the east of the Island. Then there’s the Gates of Heaven at Lempuyang Temple which offers stunning views of Mount Agung beyond. But perhaps the most famous is Tanah Lot, which is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places on the island.
